Tutoring helps strengthen subject comprehension and examination performance, boosts confidence, and builds learning skills.
Below are some of the key benefits:
● Improved examination performance: Tutoring helps students prepare for exams, working on specific problem areas, leading to improved performance on the day.
● Reinforced learning: It provides an opportunity to review key concepts and address confusion in a low-pressure environment.
● Personalised approach: Tutors create individual lessons and activities to cater to a student's specific learning style and pace. They act as your child’s own private teacher.
● Encourages inquisitiveness and risk-taking: At school, your child may not always feel comfortable asking or answering questions in front of their peers. Tutoring will help encourage your child to move out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves.
● Independent learning: Tutoring equips students with the tools to become more independent learners and to take responsibility for their own study.
● Positive workspace: Tutoring provides an environment free of distractions, with fewer students and disruptions around, so your child is better able to focus on learning.
Personal and long-term benefits
● Increased confidence: Through receiving the resources and support they need to excel in school, students build self-esteem and a belief in their ability to succeed.
● Boosted motivation: It can help students get back into a learning routine and feel more engaged with their studies.
● Self-directed learning: With tutoring, your child will learn to take the initiative with their schoolwork and other related decision-making.
● Skill development: It helps students develop crucial skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective study habits
All tutoring sessions, Masterclasses and meetings are conducted using the Google Suite. Once sessions have been booked, students will be sent a link to a private Google Classroom specifically set up for them. Parents/guardians will be invited to the Classroom also. Links to Google Meet, Google Docs and all other resources used will all be shared through the Classroom. Google Classroom keeps a record of all files and activity, allowing students and parents to access and refer back to materials at any time. The Classroom is continually available to students throughout their tutoring.
Is it possible to engage you for some support and advice on my child's university choices and application, but not for the whole beginning to end process?
Of course. I understand that every family's needs are different and that you may only require some broad general advice to get started, or indeed very particular detailed support on a few select elements of your journey. You may be in the very early stages and not sure how to start or what the full process can even look like. I am here to help, for as much as you need.
Of course. All prospective new students (and parents/guardians) meet with me before any tutoring or university services can take place, in order for both parties to make an informed decision on whether this is the right choice for each individual student.
Please contact me and I will arrange a 15 minute consultation with you to discuss:
a) Your situation and specific objectives
b) If and/or how I can assist you in meeting them
c) If there is a good logistical fit regarding availability
d) Recommended next steps
